Workplace First Aid Courses in Staffordshire

The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 require every employer to make adequate first aid provision. What counts as adequate is not fixed.

It depends on your own first aid needs assessment, so the right course follows from your risk profile and headcount.

Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work, one day. The most widely held workplace qualification in the UK. Suited to lower risk settings such as offices, retail and small teams. Valid for three years.

Level 3 First Aid at Work, three days For higher risk environments and larger organisations needing first aiders with broader competence. Valid for three years.

Level 3 First Aid at Work Requalification, two days. For existing certificate holders renewing before expiry.

All three are taught by experienced NHS and emergency service professionals, with practical assessment throughout rather than a written exam at the end.

HSE recommends annual refresher training between requalifications to keep skills current. It is not a legal requirement, but it is what most insurers and auditors expect to find in a training record.

Level 3 First Response Emergency Care (RQF), five days. The recognised entry qualification for event medics, ambulance care assistants and pre-hospital roles.

Level 2 Basic Life Support and AED, half day CPR and defibrillator use, for teams with an AED on site.

Level 2 Activity First Aid for sports clubs, outdoor centres and activity providers.

Level 3 Forestry First Aid + F for arboriculture teams and chainsaw operators, including catastrophic bleeding.
