Why Take This Course?
If your First Aid at Work (FAW) certificate is due to expire, this 2 day requalification course is designed to renew your qualification and refresh your first aid skills with the latest techniques and best practices.
The Level 3 First Aid at Work Requalification course ensures that trained first aiders remain confident, competent, and up to date with current HSE standards and FAIB accreditation.
During the course, learners update their knowledge on managing workplace emergencies, including dealing with choking, wounds, eye injuries, illness, and CPR.
You’ll also get hands on experience with AEDs (defibrillators) and real life first aid simulations.
Note: All requalifying first aiders must have previously completed a Level 3 First Aid at Work course.
How Is the Course Delivered?
You can choose to attend this requalification course in a way that suits your schedule:
- At Our Venue - Join a scheduled session at one of our Staffordshire or West Midlands training centres.
- At Your Workplace - We can deliver this course onsite for groups of up to 12 delegates anywhere across England.
Both options combine theory based learning with hands on practical training, giving you confidence to act quickly in real emergencies.

What You’ll Learn
- The course includes essential updates to core first aid topics: Roles and responsibilities of a first aider
- Assessing and managing incidents
- CPR and use of AED (defibrillator)
- Managing an unresponsive casualty
- Treating choking, shock, and bleeding
- Managing eye injuries and minor wounds
- Burns, scalds, and other workplace injuries
- Refreshing key life-saving procedures
By the end of this course, you’ll renew your Level 3 First Aid at Work qualification and ensure compliance with Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

Anyone whose Level 3 First Aid at Work certificate is about to expire (within 3 months of expiry) or has recently expired.
In order to complete this course, there will be a range of methods used to demonstrate your knowledge after being taught throughout the First Aid course, this includes practical real life scenario examples and questioning. The final examination will be multiple choice and open ended questions. Upon successful completion of this course, each delegate will have the knowledge, confidence, and certification to be a responsible First Aider in their workplace.

Your renewed certificate is valid for another 3 years from the date of your refresher course.
