The Level 2 Award in Safe Moving and Handling is a 1 day practical training course designed to give learners the skills and confidence to move and handle objects safely in the workplace.
This qualification covers both theory and hands-on practice, ensuring learners understand the key principles of safe lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling, in line with the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 (as amended) and HSE guidance (L23).1
Delegates will take part in a range of practical exercises to demonstrate correct techniques and reduce the risk of workplace injuries caused by poor manual handling practices.
The course is nationally recognised, regulated, and delivered by qualified instructors with real world experience in workplace safety.

Employers have a legal duty to ensure staff receive adequate training to safely perform lifting and moving tasks.

Delegates will be assessed through:
- A short multiple-choice test covering theoretical knowledge
- A practical assessment demonstrating safe moving and handling techniques
Successful candidates will receive a Level 2 Award in Safe Moving and Handling certificate, valid for 3 years.
